September 19th is once again International Talk Like a Pirate Day.  This is one of those fun holidays that come each year that the wife & I enjoy sharing.  The picture you see was taken of Isabelle in her official pirate gear the first year she was born.  She was around four months old at the time and wasn’t sure why Mom & Dad were making such funny noises, but seemed to really enjoy hearing them.

Now, we don’t quite get into the holiday like some, but we do enjoy filling our day with a few extra “ARGHS!” and “AYES!”  Since Isabelle is now over 2 years old, I am sure this year she will be able to understand more this year.  I plan on taking the next few days to teach her some of the correct terminology.  By Sunday I expect her to be a pro at saying “Ahoy Matey!” and “Ye Landlubber! ARGH!” Oh, the little fun things in life that will make life enjoyable.

Are there other fun holidays like this that you enjoy sharing with your children?  Please share!
